Windsor residents will have received in this past week a letter from the British Airports Authority (BAA) announcing their Night Noise Insulation Scheme.


Given that there remains much opposition to night flights, not least from RBWM, this announcement does rather suggest that substantial increases in night
flights will happen regardless of public opinion.


Well, that comes as no surprise, does it?

The Royal Borough is urging residents to have their say on proposals to change the flightpaths of aircraft taking off from Heathrow before they turn north.

Fears that the proposals will move those aircraft take-offs further south - passing over Horton and Wraysbury, Old Windsor, parts of Windsor and east towards
Bray - have been expressed by councillors this week as the consultation is extended until mid-June.

			<description><![CDATA[ When I was flying one of the services I used to operate was from Jeddah, scheduled to arrive at LHR at 5.00am, the time the airport opened.

But we often arrived a lot earlier, sometimes by as much as 30 minutes, so a &#39;closed&#39; airport was magically opened to us. ]]></description>

ATC staff member has reported an incident where aircraft were placed, in his view, dangerously close over Reading while lining up to land.
