Good to see Downing St making an effort .
The St George's Cross will be flown above Downing Street for the first time on St George's Day. It will take its place on the second flagpole above No 10 after a review of flag-flying ordered by the prime minister; the main pole is reserved for the union flag. The Article in the online Guardian |

Well done Exred.... that was a lovely surprise. Not much is made of St. George's Day these days, so to see your banner was great. I did see a few St.
George's Day flags this morning and they were in ASDA. The staff were giving away hats and flags to children coming into the store - so that was good to
see. I hope the parents of the children who were given those hats and flags explained to them the importance of being proud of our country and proud to be
English/British....... Some of the staff too were wearing the hats and were proud to be doing so, so they told me. Having Scots blood in my veins too, I
appreciate your patriotic contribution, thankyou. Gordon Brown's decision to fly each flag on their respective Saints day is a great gesture on his
part. Perhaps the Northern Ireland situation, re. National Flag, might get 'sorted', let's hope so.

So I see!! But I've already got mine, thankyou anyway, that's unless you have others to give away,......I have though, saved to my pictures, your
banner. So that, and The Flag have been sent via e-mail to Nevada, to my cousin. She's a far-flung Windsorian too, having lived there for about 20
years....Also, I've sent it to Canada to my nephew...Yes, he's a Windsorian too, but lives over there now. So you see, they'll be seen many, many
miles away. I sent them too an old photo from 'The History of Pubs' on this site. It's of The Wolf Pub, (changed to The Maypole), in Dedworth.
They will both have many fond memories of that institution, I'm sure. I hope the writer of that great site, won't mind me 'borrowing' his
photo. Your 'filing' instructions have come in very handy, thankyou...
