As Windsorians we are always proud to see the castle featuring on national, and sometimes even international, news. This programme has started well with some impressive images from the air, plus of course the arrival of a true statesman, President Obama, together with his equally impressive wife, Michelle.
Follow that, as they say!
Right now the programme is recalling the fire of 1992 which for me was hugely upsetting, and of course for very many others too. The worst part was the first few hours when we had no idea just how much damage was being done as we stood and watched, helpless.

I recall the last major series, the misleadingly named ‘The Queen’s Castle’ but at least they have clarified who actually owns the castle... us!! They have also corrected the public misunderstanding as to why the castle should have been restored by the tax payer... Because it is ours! Nonetheless, the queen agreed to a variety of measures to raise the funds required including opening Buckingham Palace to public visits.
...Oh dear. Now its the adverts. Don't you just hate it when that happens?
They are now raking over the problems Charles and Diana faced back in the early 90s which might not, I suggest, have much to do with Windsor Castle. It does of course sell newspapers, and one assumes, advertising space on Channel 5.
