Did I read recently that the Queen's Grandson, Peter Phillips, is getting married in Windsor this coming Saturday??? If so, will thamesweb be there?

I understand that this is a private affair so, no, I shan't be there but I extend my very best wishes for a happy life together.

I have a great respect for the Queen but i fail to muster that same respect for the umpteenth in line , especially as his intended has changed her religion
just so he can retain his pole position in " heirdom" , also irking is the rumour they sold their story to Hello for £500,000 BBC Report .
Sorry but this is where I personally draw the line in Monarchy debates . |

Sales to Hello | ||

I thought anyone could sell their story to Hello if the magazine wants to pay the money. Royals who are someway down the line of succession have to
make their own way in life and balance their budgets just as the rest of us. If Hello chooses to pay them for their wedding story, then so be it and
good luck to them. The list of beneficiaries from Hello's generosity is a long and varied one so I see no reason why relatives of the Royal family
shouldn't be included. After all, the line of succession could be traced through to millions of families, given the time!
The current circulation figure for Hello stands at 405,000 per week (copies sold) while readership is claimed to be some 2 million adults in the UK for each edition, i.e. about 4 readers per copy. It is read predominantly by women (84%). A bigger problem could therefore be that getting on for half a million people think it is worth buying!!! |

Saw the happy couple coming out of St.George's Chapel and the rain held off just long enough for them to get into their carriage. BBC News 'said'
that 'Hello' magazine photographers weren't inside the chapel and won't be at Frogmore House, so when will they be taking their photos?

Well going by the evening news last night it seems the " Hello " deal may have caused damage within the Royal Family relations , I cant say I am
surprised .

I find the whole subject a trifle tedious. People complain about minor royals sponging off the state (total and ill-informed rubbish) and complain when they
manage to secure some independent income that harms no-one. I haven't heard that they are 'spilling the beans' about other Royals. It is only
wedding pictures after all.
I better get along to my doctor's waiting room and have a look... |

...just so he can retain his pole position in " heirdom" ... That isn't the reason. It is all tied up with the constitution and the fact that the country broke away from the Catholic Church some years ago (never mind the reasons behind that) such that the options were that either Autumn Kelly gave up her Catholicism (no big deal) or Peter Philips joined the Catholic Church (big problems with that). Yet again the Royal Family can't win. Do one thing and people complain. Do another thing and other people complain. |

I dont find it tedious I see it as a legitimate current topic and would not be at all happy if say the " Guards " started wearing corporate logos
on their tunics , my reply was a personal view on the monarchy which my family has served ( in armed forces of this country ) .
But I can certainly cease to post on this topic if it does not fit in . |

No, no! It is the regular attacks in the press that I find tedious. You are most welcome to post your views here.
It is just that I like taking the unfashionable view and try to support the Royals whenever it seems they need it. They can't, after all, publicly defend themselves and have to 'keep mum' sometimes when quite harshly and unjustifiably criticised. |
