I've found a photograph of a baby boy in my Mother's box of photos. I know who he is/was - his name is 'Billy Rogers'....my Mother worked
for his parents just after WWII. They owned a pair of houses somewhere opposite, perhaps, The Black Horse Pub, or maybe The Queen Pub, in Dedworth. They had
fields, pigs, and caravans then and when it was 'haymaking time', our family would help in the fields......Mrs. Rogers' name was Dorothy and Mr.
Rogers was 'Bill'.....there were two daughters, Maureen and Dorothy. Maureen was at Clewer Green School with me, so is my age-group. Baby Billy came
along and Mrs. Rogers gave my Mother this lovely photo of Billy in his pram. Grandparents, Nanny and 'Tampy' Rogers lived in the adjoining house to
the Rogers family. Tampy, as he was called, drove a really large black saloon car and sometimes gave Maureen and I a lift home from school. My husband
suggests the car may have been a Packard..
There's a slight family link here too, as my brother married Mrs. Rogers' niece.
I believe that 'TESCO' now has a store where their smallholding once was. If anyone knows of 'Billy's' whereabouts, perhaps they could
contact thamesweb? Thankyou.
