For the last 25 years the Windsor Local History Group has published their annual magazine Windlesora containing carefully researched and entertainingly written articles about Windsor and its remarkably varied history, not to mention their other publications such as Windsor: A Thousand Years and several editions of The Streets of Windsor.
By way of celebration to mark their 25th edition of Windlesora the latest issue has been augmented to 80 pages and includes a section of a colour. Subjects for articles include Doris Mellor, of Bachelors Acre fame, Sir Daniel Gooch, GWR engineer, The Gwyn Inheritance, Windsor's First Family, 1680-1777, and Mary Ellis, motorcycling pioneer. This is just a selection of the 18 articles to be found in Windlesora 25 which as always proves to be a welcome and inexpensive present at Christmas.
Copies are now available from Waterstones in Peascod Street, or from WLHG's own website.
